S T A N D B Y

Stand By is a choreographic project composed of four short sequences, created during the pandemic. They function as small moving snapshots, fragments that try to capture how the body experiences time when everything around it comes to a halt.

The work was developed between June and December 2021, starting from a very personal research on solitude and waiting. I worked alone at home, allowing movement to appear without forcing it, observing what happens to the body when there is no clear task, when silence can’t be filled with anything but oneself.

In this suspended space, body and mind don’t always move in the same direction. Sometimes they come closer, sometimes they drift apart, collide, or disconnect. The material grew out of these small shifts: interrupted gestures, restrained impulses, movements that begin in one place and end somewhere else almost unintentionally.
From here, a subtle feeling of restlessness emerges — made of contradictions and thoughts that never fully settle.

Stand By does not search for a narrative. It focuses on how the body inhabits a suspended time and tries to reorganize itself within uncertainty.
