KOLLEKTIV | ELEVEN

KOLLEKTIV | ELEVEN is a transdisciplinary collective based in North Rhine-Westphalia. We bring together dance, theatre, and visual art to explore existential and cultural questions through the body. Our work connects artists from different backgrounds and creates a space where perspectives meet and new forms of performance can emerge.

The collective was founded in early 2024 by Lara Pilloni and Julia Monschau. Our roots lie in the artistic landscapes of the Ruhr region and the Bergisches Land. As dancers and choreographers from Dortmund and Wuppertal, we share a strong interest in combining movement with visual and conceptual practices. Our artistic language draws from photography, fine arts, urban arts, and martial arts, giving us a wide range of physical and aesthetic tools.

At the center of our research is the relationship between mind and body. We explore how inner states shape physical presence and how movement can reveal what happens beneath the surface. We are interested in the complexity of human experience and in the moments when memory, sensation, and emotion become visible through the body.

A place without physical pain, yet marked by eternal absence, where souls reach toward the unattainable. Today, we inhabit similar states: time stretches, identity blurs, direction is lost. An anonymous, familiar, yet undefined space becomes a visual metaphor for this non-place: neither here nor there, neither before nor after. The body becomes a vessel of memories, emotions, and transformations, tracing invisible paths between presence and absence. Eleven | Eleven invites reflection on the human condition, dwelling in doubt, and inhabiting waiting as a space of belonging and renewal.
