Bach und Bewegung
Bach und Bewegung was born from a wish to let contemporary dance and live music meet on equal ground.
Together with violist Ana Vincente Gonzales, I ventured into Bach’s universe, allowing his compositions to become a source of movement, reflection, and quiet intensity. Rather than illustrating the music, the work searches for a space where sound and gesture can encounter one another.
At times the dance follows the architecture of the score; at others it drifts away from it, questions it, or opens new pathways. What interests us is the moment when the body begins to respond instinctively to sound—when musical structure becomes a physical impulse.
Throughout the process, Ana and I worked side by side, letting her sonic textures and my movement influence each other even from a distance. It became a practice of attentive listening, a slow approach toward each other’s artistic language.
Bach und Bewegung remains a place of exploration—an open field where music and movement continue to resonate, shift, and shape one another.
