Bach und Bewegung

Bach und Bewegung was born from a wish to let contemporary dance and live music meet on equal ground.

Together with violist Ana Vincente Gonzales, I ventured into Bach’s universe, allowing his compositions to become a source of movement, reflection, and quiet intensity. Rather than illustrating the music, the work searches for a space where sound and gesture can encounter one another.
At times the dance follows the architecture of the score; at others it drifts away from it, questions it, or opens new pathways. What interests us is the moment when the body begins to respond instinctively to sound, when musical structure becomes a physical impulse.

Throughout the process, Ana and I worked side by side, letting her sonic textures and my movement influence each other even from a distance. It became a practice of attentive listening, a slow approach toward each other’s artistic language.

Bach und Bewegung remains a place of exploration, an open field where music and movement continue to resonate, shift, and shape one another.
